Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland has over 1.2 million members in 34,000 Rotary clubs, spread across 170 countries and Downham Market is very lucky to have 35 of the most dedicated ‘Rotarians’ the organisation has to offer.
Mixing social activities with charity work The Rotary Club of Downham Market is very strong and active, its members of varied age and background are united to better our community and raise money for a whole host of deserving charities.
The Rotary’s End Polio Now! campaign is proving to be be very successful contributing $100 million from members worldwide!
The Norfolk Hospice Tapping House received profits from 2012’s Hilgay raft races which amounted to over £2100!

If you are interested in becoming a member the Downham Market Rotary meet on Mondays, 7.30pm at the Castle Hotel in Downham Market. Alternatively if your busy schedule doesn’t allow you to make the regular meetings there are still ways you can contribute to the cause.

The club is made up of people from many backgrounds and ages, they cover an area that includes Southery, Hilgay,Wimbotsham, Watlington and parts of Fenland. Members of the Rotary boast a very active social life and a great sense of wellbeing as their reward for doing so many great things.
