With Downham Market Academy and other local schools breaking up for Summer this week, it’s a good time to be reminded of the volunteering opportunities that downhamweb offers.
Volunteers make downhamweb possible, and although we’re open to all ages, volunteering helps give young people a chance to develop skills and have engaging and rewarding experiences with interests, hobbies, and potential careers.
We’re always looking out for budding photographers to keep the images on the site fresh and to take shots at local upcoming events such as the Water Festival for our news section. We’re also in need of aspiring journalists and fledgling news scouts to attend events, hunt out the latest scoop, then write news stories to keep everyone up-to-date about local goings-on.
Other skills are always welcomed too such as web skills, graphics skills, and much more. We also welcome ideas for new sections to the website. So if you’re interested in helping your local community portal, run right here in Downham Market, then get in touch! We’d love to hear from you.
