A planning application for a new Downham Market Fire Station is currently being considered by the Norfolk County Council.
If the application is successful, the new Fire Station will be built at Ryston Close, on the site of the former station which was destroyed in a fire in 2014.
The plan is for the existing buildings to be demolished and a new three bay fire station, training tower and associated works to be erected in their place.
The planning application suggests that there will be scope for the ambulance service to move into the Ryston Close site so that eventually all three emergency services could be based in the same location.
