Home-Start is one of the leading family support charities in the UK, helping families with young children deal with whatever life throws at them.
The charity is currently recruiting Downham Market parents who are happy to offer informal and friendly support to other local families.
Being a parent isn’t easy and life often brings challenges. Many parents do not have regular support from friends or family and the friendship and support that Home-Start volunteers provide is very much appreciated.
Volunteers work alongside parents in their own homes, listening to them, helping and encouraging them and this enables them to cope better with the stresses and strains of life. When they feel better and more confident they enjoy their life and children more.

Home Start needs to recruit more volunteers in Downham Market and the surrounding villages in order to meet the needs of local families seeking help. Structured training is provided, expenses are paid and support given throughout.
The next volunteers course starts in January 2017. If you have parenting experience and think you could support other parents for two or more hours each week then please give Home Start a call to find out more about what is involved. Both male and female volunteers are welcome.
