Downham Market Sports Federation building has been given a facelift thanks to funding from WREN and the Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk.
The refurbishment, which cost just over £16,000 (with £15,549.00 being provided by a grant from WREN), has involved the creation of a landscaped area and patio, improving the experience for spectators, and replacement windows and doors, which make the building more comfortable and cost-effective to run.
Cllr David Pope, Cabinet Member for Leisure Facilities, said: “The refurbishment has transformed this well-used local facility and we’re very grateful to WREN for their support.”
Sarah Gosling, WREN Grant Manager for Norfolk said: “We’re pleased to be able to support the pavilion, as it will enable new groups to hire it and benefit from a warm, comfortable environment. With the new patio area, it will encourage more people to come along and support sports events too.”
