The fourth Annual Charity Ceilidh will take place on Saturday 12 April 2014 at Downham Market Town Hall. Once again the charities that will benefit will be the Robert Foot Leukaemia Fund and Arthritis Research UK.
The Robert Foot Leukaemia Fund is a locally based charity, established in 2002 in memory of Robert Foot from West Norfolk who died aged 33 having first being diagnosed with leukaemia two years earlier.
The fund raises money to pay for ‘patient comforts’ for those being treated for cancer and leukaemia in the three hospitals where Robert was treated. Locally this means Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn and the Teenage Cancer Unit at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
Arthritis Research UK is the leading UK funder of research into the cause, treatment, and cure of arthritis. They work to take the pain away from people living with all forms of the disease, helping them keep active. The charity funds high class research, educates professionals and provides reliable information to all.
The Charity Ceilidh is always a fun evening. Live music is provided by a local band, ‘Abandon’, with Jan a splendid caller. She ensures that people of all ages are able to join in the dances whether they have been before or are absolute beginners.

Included in the ticket price is a Ploughman’s supper.
A licensed bar will be open during the evening and you will also have time to try and win a tombola prize!
